Reported To R&D Team Lead ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and test firmware for industrial protection devices and communication modules. Collaborate with global teams to define firmware requirements and share technical expertise. Drive continuous improvement in firmware development and cybersecurity practices. Contribute to intellectual property creation and patent protection for ABB.QualificationsHighly skilled in C/C++/Python/assembler backed by solid computer science fundamentals. Solid knowledge of structured development processes, from requirement analysis to documentation. At least 3 years of experience designing firmware for embedded industrial applications on microcontrollers/microprocessors. Enhanced knowledge of development infrastructure: Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, version control (git), build systems, unit testing, debug probes, oscilloscopes, and related tools. Exposure to cyber‑security concepts and understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, IEC61850, Profibus, CAN bus) is a plus. Passionate about teamwork and innovation. BSc/MSc in Information, Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a comparable field.
