Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world.Export Control: This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen in order to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed.ResponsibilitiesAs an MCAD Tools Application Engineer, you will be responsible for providing a stable, reliable set of Mechanical Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools and database management for electrical engineering design, layout, and simulation engineers. You will anticipate tool needs, develop custom features and functionality, collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical support, and create and develop processes to enable successful and rapid development of a leading-edge low earth orbit satellite constellation. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.Basic QualificationsBachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field5+ years experience in CAD software development and customization, with a strong focus on Siemens NXExtensive experience with NX Open and other relevant programming interfacesProficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, and Python and other .NET languagesStrong understanding of 3D modeling, engineering drawings, and product lifecycle management (PLM) conceptsExperience integrating CAD systems with other enterprise software (e.g., PLM, ERP, simulation tools)Preferred QualificationsMaster\'s degree in a relevant fieldExperience with aerospace or satellite design engineeringFamiliarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS)Experience with Software Configuration Management (SCM) using GitHub or otherAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
