This is an ideal role forcommunity college studentspursuing degrees in early childhood education, human development, or related fields. As a part‑time Assistant Teacher, you will work under the guidance of a Lead Teacher to support classroom routines, encourage children’s learning through play, and help maintain a nurturing and safe environment. What You’ll DoAssist with daily classroom routines, including play‑based activities, meals/snacks, rest time, and transitions. Engage in hands‑on learning experiences with children, encouraging inquiry, exploration, and social‑emotional growth. Help maintain a clean, organized, and aesthetically inviting classroom environment. Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to implement Reggio Emilia‑inspired learning experiences. Provide supervision indoors and outdoors to ensure children’s health and safety. Support documentation of children’s learning through observation and note‑taking. Model respectful, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate interactions at all times. Ideal Candidate ProfileEnrolled in a local community college program in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field. Experience working with children in group settings (e.g., volunteering, babysitting, summer programs). Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and collaborate. Reliability, flexibility, and a joyful attitude toward working with young children. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and participate in active indoor and outdoor play. Must be at least 18 years old.
