The position offers the opportunity to coordinate engineering across optical, mechanical, and electronic systems, driving the company’s R&D strategy and future product development.The OpportunityYou’ll join an industry leader in advanced opto-mechanical solutions for space applications. With a strong engineering culture and global reputation for precision and innovation, the company is seeking a forward-thinking technical leader to shape its technology roadmap, strengthen cross-domain collaboration, and foster excellence across engineering teams.As CTO, you’ll define long-term technical direction, support system architecture decisions, and ensure consistent standards of quality, performance, and innovation across the company’s product lines. This role reports directly to the group CEO.Key Responsibilities- Define and maintain the company’s long-term technology roadmap.- Oversee R&D programs aimed at developing reusable and scalable solutions.- Lead engineering capability heads across mechanical, optical, electronic, and systems domains.- Drive convergence, efficiency, and standardisation in technical processes.- Support key system-level design decisions in collaboration with project teams.- Promote adoption of digital tools, modelling, and simulation in product development.- Represent the company in innovation partnerships with academia and industry.Essential Skills and Experience- Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related technical discipline.- Proven leadership experience in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a space focused environment.- Strong knowledge of optical communication or photonics.- Strong background in complex system design and integration.- Strategic mindset with an ability to anticipate and adapt to emerging technologies.- Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.- Passion for innovation and commitment to technical excellence.Why Apply?This is a rare opportunity to influence the technological direction of a high-growth space company at the forefront of optical and mechanical innovation.
