About the roleThe Veritas Backup SME IT Infrastructure will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and troubleshooting of Veritas backup solutions across the organization. This role will provide expertise in Veritas NetBackup, ensure smooth operation of backup and recovery processes, and play a crucial role in the overall data protection strategy of the IT infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement and manage Veritas NetBackup solutions for enterprise-level backup and recovery operationsDevelop backup strategies, schedules and policies to ensure data protection compliance and retention requirements are metPerform regular backups, restores and disaster recovery tests to ensure systems are functioning correctlyMonitor backup jobs and ensure completion for on-premises, virtual, and cloud environmentsArchitect scalable and efficient backup solutions using Veritas products (NetBackup, Backup Exec, etc.)Provide expertise on Veritas NetBackup configurations including tuning and optimizationLead or support projects involving data migration, storage optimization, and disaster recovery strategiesAlign backup solutions with the company’s infrastructure architecture and security policiesIdentify and troubleshoot backup operation performance and failuresPerform root cause analysis for backup or recovery issues and provide solutionsTune the backup environment for optimal performance, including network storage and server componentsResolve bottlenecks and enhance overall reliability of backup solutionsAutomate backup processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention and ensure reliable backupsSet up and configure monitoring tools to proactively detect potential issuesEstablish performance metrics and reporting tools to regularly assess the health of backup infrastructureMaintain and update documentation for backup policies, processes, configurations and troubleshooting guidesProvide detailed reporting on backup status, capacity planning, recovery performance and risk assessmentsCollaborate with storage, server, and network teams to ensure proper functioning of backup and restore processesSkillsVeeam Backup & ReplicationVeritas NetBackupBackup strategy and policy developmentBackup and disaster recovery testingPerformance tuning and root cause analysisAutomation and monitoring of backup processesDocumentation and reportingCollaboration with IT teamsJob DetailsSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full‑timeJob function: Information TechnologyIndustry: IT Services and IT ConsultingLocation: Milan, Lombardy, Italy#J-18808-Ljbffr
