Our client is dedicated to making nuclear power more accessible and focuses on delivering:Simple and Safe Micro-Reactor Solutions Scalable, affordable, and deployable in various locations Generates energy at a rate ofone megawatt electric (MWe)at a timeThey are currently developing a ⚛️Micro Modular Reactor Capable of providing clean energy and radioisotopes where needed Initially supporting the reactor licensing process in theUnited StatesBy partnering with them, we have the opportunity to contribute to :A Rapidly Growing Scaleup Aiming to become a leading technology provider in global energy solutions Committed to innovation and sustainabilityThis collaboration offers a unique chance to be part of a:High-Performance Team Focused on delivering essential energy solutions worldwideThe Mechanical Systems Designer will be responsible for:️Designing, Developing, and Optimizing Mechanical systems and components for nuclear power plants, research reactors, and other applicationsCreating Detailed Technical Drawings Collaborating with engineers and regulatory agencies Ensuring designs meet nuclear safety, performance, and regulatory standards️Using CAD Software Developing 2D and 3D models Performing mechanical analyses and supporting prototype development and testingPotential Next Steps As the company is expanding rapidly and planning international growth in 2026, the right candidate may be considered for regional and/or global responsibilities.Your Responsibilities Will Include:Designing and Developing Mechanical Systems Components and assemblies for nuclear reactor applications, including piping, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and cooling systems✏️Creating and Modifying CAD Drawings Using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CREO for detailed designCollaborating with Engineers and Regulatory Agencies Ensuring design feasibility, safety, and compliance Conducting material selection, stress analysis, and thermal analysis for optimal performance under high-radiation and high-temperature conditionsEnsuring Regulatory Compliance Adhering to industry regulations and codes, including ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), NRC guidelines, and ANSI standards⚙️Engineering Activities Related to Mechanical Loads Analyzing systems and components, including pressure vesselsAssisting in Prototype Development and Testing Troubleshooting nuclear mechanical systemsPreparing Technical Documentation Including design specifications, engineering reports, and bills of materials (BOM)Revising Designs Based on Feedback Incorporating testing results, manufacturing input, and regulatory requirementsMaintaining Organized Design Files Ensuring version control for nuclear components and systemsSupporting the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Process Including design updates and safety improvementsCANDIDATE PROFILEEducation : Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related fieldExperience : 2-5 years in mechanical design for nuclear applications, power plants, or industrial settingsCertifications (Preferred) : CSWP (Certified SolidWorks Professional), AutoCAD Certification, or equivalent️Proficiency in CAD Software : AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CREOKnowledge of Mechanical Design Principles : Material properties and manufacturing processes specific to nuclear applicationsUnderstanding of Nuclear Reactor Components : Cooling systems and radiation shieldingFamiliarity with ASME BPVC, NRC Regulations, and ANSI Standardsfor nuclear mechanical designExperience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) : Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for nuclear applications is a plusExperience in Tribology, Seals, and WeldingStrong Problem-Solving and Analytical Abilities️Effective Communication and Teamwork Skills : Essential for collaboration with engineers and regulatory bodiesAttention to Detail and Project Management Skills : Ability to manage multiple projects and meet regulatory deadlinesPreferred Qualifications:PhD / Engineering Degree English (Written and Oral)Soft Skills :Passionate Engineerwilling to be part of history in nuclear industry.
