Software Development Engineer, AWS Marketplace This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end‑to‑end go‑to‑market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges. AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small‑ and mid‑market accounts to enterprise‑level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world‑class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission‑critical applications on top of AWS services. AWS Marketplace ( is an online store that helps customers find, buy, and immediately start using trusted software and services that run on the AWS Cloud. AWS Marketplace manages the state‑of‑the‑art complex infrastructure to provide a smooth experience for sellers and buyers to buy various software and services for different domains like infrastructure software, machine learning, and IoT. We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to help the team take AWS Marketplace to the next level. As a Software Development Engineer on the team you will own significant portions of the product and will have influence on our strategy by helping define the next wave of product features and system architecture. The systems are complex and there are huge opportunities to work at all levels from a set of robust platform services, to system‑level pieces and everything in between. You should enjoy working on complex system software, be customer‑centric, and be passionate about building quality software as well as achieving operational excellence. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are essential. The ideal candidate will have a track record of success delivering new features or products. This person has thrived and succeeded in delivering high‑quality technology products/services in a hyper‑growth environment where priorities shift fast. This person has design and implementation experience, knowledge of web services and protocols, and an in‑depth knowledge of distributed systems architectures. Key job responsibilities The ideal candidate will be passionate about solving complex and broad business problems of cloud marketplaces with simple and straightforward solutions, applying appropriate technologies and software engineering best practices, building solutions that scale and perform well. They will own the design and implementation of major deliverables end‑to‑end. This position requires collaboration with other engineers on the team, principal engineers, product managers, and partner teams.
