The Global Packaging R&D Engineer is responsible for the development, optimization, and industrialization of innovative, compliant, and sustainable packaging solutions across global markets. Key Responsibilities and Activities:
- Design, develop, and qualify primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging solutions.
- Lead packaging innovation projects aligned with brand, sustainability, and consumer needs.
- Translate marketing, technical, and supply requirements into robust packaging specifications.
- Keep up to date with technological innovations and develop new packaging innovations that unlock new areas of opportunity for Campari Group.
- Support pilot trials, line trials, and global roll-outs from concept to mass production.
- Collaborate with manufacturing plants to ensure packaging compatibility with filling, labeling, and logistics processes.
- Integrate sustainability principles, including recyclability, lightweighting, and material reduction.
- Collaborate with sustainability team to meet corporate and regulatory targets.
- Work closely with procurement teams and global packaging suppliers on technical development and cost optimization.
- Support supplier qualification, benchmarking, and innovation scouting.
- Develop and maintain global packaging specifications, standards, and guidelines.

- BSc/MSc University from a Packaging School/Material science or Industrial Design of consumer goods or Industrial engineering
- Functional knowledge of food contact materials
- Good technical capability with a proven track record of project management and delivery
- Good creative problem solving and multitasking skills.
- Good understanding of quality tools including RCA, AQL’s, CPK analysis and SPC.
- Good understanding of 3D modeling and LCA tools.
- Ability to work under pressure, set clear priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to align the different interests of internal parties.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
- Must have outstanding teamwork ability.
- Must have a very good knowledge of English, French and Italian languages.
- Flexible to travel extensively both domestically and internationally.
