About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Materials and Chemical Laboratory Specialist to serve as the pillar of our EU product compliance efforts in Varese (VA), Italy. In this execution-focused role, you will ensure our consumer goods meet rigorous regulatory standards by combining supply chain traceability with hands-on laboratory methodologies, including operating test equipment, conducting failure analysis, and quantitatively verifying adherence to REACH and RoHS regulations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute chemical and physical tests on metals, alloys, coatings, enamels, polymers, composite materials, components, and finished products.
  • Perform quantitative execution and verification of product regulatory compliance testing, specifically for RoHS and REACH.
  • Operate materials characterization equipment to evaluate the composition and properties of materials and conduct failure analysis on components to identify root causes using established procedures.
  • Analyze product failure data and laboratory test results to determine the causes of problems and continuously evaluate potential material deterioration.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory systems and support the routine calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
  • Coordinate and update test reports in Excel and internal systems, and manage functional relationships within the Materials Team, Procurement, and Regulatory departments.



Requisiti

  • Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or Chemical and Materials Engineering.
  • Comfortable personally operating test equipment, with preferential knowledge of XRF (X-ray fluorescence screening), ICP-OES (Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry), UV-Vis spectroscopy, and GC-MS (Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry).
  • Effective collaboration within a team environment, coupled with flexibility, adaptability, and priority management skills.
  • Knowledge of the English language is appreciated for work needs and interfacing with foreign teams
