Within this mission, The Structural Proteomics Unit studies protein structure and interactions using advanced mass spectrometry–based proteomics, with a strong focus on crosslinking MS and high‑throughput workflows, including single‑cell proteomics. It operates state‑of‑the‑art instrumentation and advanced data analysis pipelines within the multidisciplinary ecosystem of Human Technopole. The Proteomics Specialist will report to the Unit Manager and collaborate closely with National Facilities and research groups. Your missionDevelop and optimize advanced proteomics workflows – Establish robust protocols for single‑cell, spatial/visual, plasma and clinical proteomics, including bottom‑up sample preparation pipelines and peptide enrichment strategies. Operate and maintain mass spectrometry platforms – Perform instrument calibration, cleaning, basic maintenance, and support automation of peptide extraction, digestion, and cleanup for diverse sample types. Manage large‑scale proteomics studies – Oversee processing and data acquisition for high‑throughput projects involving hundreds to thousands of samples, ensuring quality and reproducibility. Analyze data and support facility users – Deliver and explain results to users, contribute to experimental design and project planning, provide technical support during projects, and train internal and external researchers. Contribute to the growth of the Unit – Support resource planning, introduce new protocols and applications, collaborate with vendors and service engineers, mentor junior staff, and participate in facility reviews and research initiatives.Grow your skills You will enhance your scientific and professional skills by working with:cutting‑edge proteomics technologies, including state‑of‑the‑art mass spectrometry platforms, automation, and advanced workflows for single‑cell, spatial, and clinical proteomics. complex experimental design and large‑scale data generation, ensuring high‑quality, reproducible results in a high‑throughput facility environment. multidisciplinary collaboration and facility operations, developing expertise in project coordination, user support, technology development, and mentoring within a leading research infrastructure.What you’ll bring EssentialPhD in a relevant subject (e.g., biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry) to be obtained within the deadline of the call. At least 5 years of prior experience with bottom‑up proteomics by mass spectrometry (this can include PhD years) including sample preparation. Fluency in English – HT is an international research institute. Familiarity with proteomics search engines (MaxQuant, FragPipe, Dia‑NN, Spectronaut or similar). At least one of the following: experience with plasma proteomics, spatial/tissue proteomics, clinical proteomics, single cell proteomics, establishing proteomics sample prep automation. Experiencing with implementing mass spec/proteomics methods on the spectrometer. Familiarity with operating and troubleshooting LC‑MS platforms.PreferredExperience with DIA for global untargeted proteomics. Familiarity with Astral, Hybrid or Tribrid Mass Spectrometers. Experience in working with large cohorts and/or patient sample sets, including benchmarking and QC. Experience in standardising workflows and/or developing targeted assays. Experience in glycoproteomics, including data analysis. Experience in metabolomics, including data analysis. Experience in lipidomics, including data analysis. Experience with machine learning in proteomics data analysis.Organizational and social skillsCommunication, team building and problem‑solving skills. Ability to interact effectively with other teams and work synergistically to effectively drive projects. Highly organised and meticulous work attitude.
