Mechanical Field Service Engineer - Compressor Specialist Join Baker Hughes as a Mechanical Field Service Engineer – Compressor Specialist. As a member of our Industry & Energy Technology (IET) team, you will optimize the extraction, production, and processing of energy for a diverse range of customers. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our global customers on‑site, leading installation, maintenance, and repair of centrifugal/reciprocating compressors and ensuring HSE compliance. Responsibilities Providing technical direction for site activities to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance and quality. Overseeing overhaul, troubleshooting, and commissioning of centrifugal/reciprocating compressors at customer sites. Leading customer and contractor meetings to share action plans and advise on technical solutions. Ensuring internal training, compliance and quality documentation is updated, followed and completed according to company standards. Qualifications Good working knowledge of the installation and maintenance of rotating equipment. Experience working in a mechanical role in an energy or oil and gas environment (or similar). Customer service‑orientation mindset and experience leading customers through tough decisions. Ability to communicate complex technical information to customers and teams with varying levels of technical understanding. Deep awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance and potential risks. Motivated self‑starter who can make key decisions and innovate solutions. Excellent command and understanding of verbal and written English. EU passport / European work permit; excellent verbal and written English and Italian language.
