Disaster Recovery Consultant
Contract: 6 months, likely extension
Hybrid, 2 days/week onsite + travel for workshops.
We're building technical service recovery plans across a large on-premise estate. We have strong resilience governance — what we're missing is deep service rebuild and recovery expertise, and that's what this role delivers.
We need a recovery-fluent facilitator , not a backup-tool specialist or pure engineer. You'll run sessions service-group by service-group with owners and SMEs, and turn what you extract into clear, testable rebuild plans. You don't need to know every technology - you need to know enough to ask the right questions and push back on the answers.
Write recovery/rebuild plans for assigned service groups against an agreed roadmap
Run workshops with service owners and backup platform owners across each service group
Proven experience documenting true DR / service rebuild — infra provisioning → app install/config → integration reconnection → data restore (this is NOT backup administration; runbook-only experience under-scopes the work)
Backup and recovery as a discipline — data protection, restore chains, failover/failback, dependency mapping — independent of any single vendor's tooling
Credible with both engineers and BCM/business stakeholders xrdbqlu without a translator — RTO/RPO and resilience terminology is second nature
Infrastructure breadth: virtualization, databases, OS (e.g. VMware/vCenter, Oracle, Linux)
Excellent technical writing; Exposure to Cohesity, NetBackup, or Oracle RMAN (10 tools in the estate - none is gating)
Background in broadcast, telco, or media environments alongside corporate IT.
Fluent Italian (required specifically for workshops run in Italian, plans written in English)
