In the JRC-Ispra site ( Varese ) , we are searching a senior laboratory technician in the nuclear field. Senior Laboratory Technician wil l support operational radioprotection by analysing samples from controlled zone to identify and quantify radionuclides in presence. Experience in performing radioactivity measurements for various environmental matrices (surfaces, water, solids, air sampling) and using different measurement techniques (gamma spectrometry, liquid scintillation, proportional counters). Knowledge of the functioning of ionizing radiation detectors. Management and calibration of instrumentation for the detection of ionizing radiation. Familiarity with analysis software from major detector manufacturers (non-binding). Ability to interpret and prepare technical reports and operating procedures. Use and handling of samples and radioactive sources. Proficiency in general laboratory activities, management of analyses Knowledge of practical ALARA principles Production of measurement reports. Teamwork and division of activities. General experience: At least 1-4 years of experience in radioprotection laboratory A degree in nuclear engineering or physics is considered in the count of years of experience.
