Senior Manager - Risk and Compliance– Captive Management (Milan, Italy / Hybrid)

The Senior Manager for Risk and Compliance has the primary responsibility of acting as the official within Aon Insurance Managers Italy (AIM Italy) to ensure that AIM Italy and (re)insurance undertakings under management comply with all the laws under which they operate as well as ensuring that Risk Management is conducted in a structured, systematic, and continuous manner.

What the day will look like
Holding the role of Risk and Compliance Manager within AIM Italy
Acting as Risk and Compliance Manager for clients under management or supporting the relevant clients’ Function Holders
Ensuring compliance with Insurance Legislation and Regulations and any other regulatory standards issued by IVASS applicable to AIM Italy and clients under management
Using initiative, knowledge, and collaboration with the client teams to advise & support on a wide range of Compliance and regulatory matters
Reporting to the Board of AIM Italy and clients under management on all compliance and regulatory matters as required
Liaising with IVASS on regulatory matters
Drawing up and implementing compliance plans to ensure corporate compliance with all applicable regulations
Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual regulatory reporting submissions
Liaising with global clients and other service providers including actuaries, internal and external auditors, and risk consultants
Reviewing procedures and systems on a planned basis from the viewpoint of effective compliance and advising as to steps necessary to ensure compliance
Coordinating the development and ongoing maintenance of risk policies and procedures
Monitoring and maintaining the system of governance and internal controls
Developing risk management strategies
Acting as or supporting clients’ Money Laundering Reporting Officers as required and ensuring staff are trained on and informed of all anti-money laundering regulations and procedures
Reviewing staff training processes to ensure appropriate compliance competencies
Conducting compliance risk assessment training workshops
Advising internal management and clients on the implementation of compliance programs
Following up on compliance issues that require investigation.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Be professionally qualified in Accountancy, Law, or Insurance – essential
Have a proven understanding of EU and Italian legislation, and the regulatory environment which governs our clients – essential
Strong understanding of the Solvency II regime – essential
Proven managerial experience ideally, with a compliance, finance, or insurance background.
Have completed Compliance Training and other relevant training courses.
Have been approved for a similar role by IVASS or have held a similar position in a regulated entity.
A self-starter, with strong interpersonal skills, a strong team ethic, and ability to prioritize.
Fluent Italian and English language skills are essential.
