This role is critical to ensuring that our accounting processes run smoothly in a highly controlled and compliant environment—delivering exceptional accuracy, efficiency, and insights aligned with Amazon’s leadership principles of Customer Obsession, Deliver Results, and Insist on the Highest Standards. You will work closely with Central Accounting, Finance Operations, and Global Finance teams to support month-end close, drive operational excellence, and uphold rigorous financial control standards. This position plays a pivotal role in closing global books, preparing reconciliations, managing journal entries, driving reporting, and engaging with leadership on performance reviews.________________________________________ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Control: Lead the end-to-end month-end close process for accounting options, including journal entry posting, global general ledger reconciliations, and reporting.Accounting & Financial Control: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, with a strong emphasis on compliance and control.Accounting & Financial Control: Own transition management, reporting decks, and operational reconciliations.Accounting & Financial Control: Monitor and enhance process efficiency and accuracy through automation and continuous improvement.Accounting & Financial Control: Benchmark practices against industry standards to ensure excellence in accounting processes.Accounting & Financial Control: Ensure all accounting activities comply with internal policies, SOX, and audit requirements across geographies.Accounting & Financial Control: Analyze large and complex datasets to extract business insights and support decision-making.Accounting & Financial Control: Develop dashboards and metrics to monitor the health and quality of finance processes and controls.Invent & Simplify: Drive process improvements and innovate on behalf of internal customers by optimizing workflows and controls.Invent & Simplify: Support ad-hoc financial analysis, variance reviews, and performance reporting.Invent & Simplify: Maintain detailed documentation of policies, procedures, and internal controls.Invent & Simplify: Play a leading role in strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned.Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Act as a key liaison between global and regional finance teams, building strong relationships with internal stakeholders.Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Anticipate needs, honor commitments, and deliver high-quality service to business partners.Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with remote teams across multiple time zones and drive alignment on shared goals.Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Lead hiring and training efforts within the team, promoting best practices and continuous learning.Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Maintain a strong systems orientation and leverage tools to drive scalable solutions.What We’re Looking ForProven ability to manage complex accounting operations in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.Experience with financial reporting, SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit management.Strong analytical skills with experience handling large datasets and deriving meaningful insights.Passion for process excellence, innovation, and delivering high standards.Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and global geographies.A proactive, hands-on attitude with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.Basic Qualifications8+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience3+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.) experience6+ years of Accounts Receivable or
