AWS looks for exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people to help build the place to find and buy anything online.Amazon is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our infrastructure operations team. You will work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment to drive stability and scalability of our next-generation networks and assist in automating and scaling network operations. The role includes scaling support for several data center locations and assisting with capacity management. You will collaborate with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers. You will leverage experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks and contribute to the development of best practices and refined operational procedures.Key responsibilitiesManage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projectsCollaborate with stakeholders to remove project obstaclesTroubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and low-level application interactionTravel up to 90% within the geographical work area; some travel outside the area may be requested, including internationallyTroubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cordsSpecify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipmentParticipate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardwareMove and lift computer equipment up to 40 lbsAvailable to work in an environment that operates 24/7Basic Qualifications2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience1+ years of computer networking experienceHigh school or equivalent diplomaPreferred QualificationsExperience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and under pressureExperience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologiesIndustry standard certifications (BICSI, CompTIA, CCENT, Network+)Experience with network troubleshooting tools (VFLs, OTDR, power meters)Knowledge of major command line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common networking protocols (BGP, OSPF)Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
