As an Applied Scientist on our team, you will focus on building state‑of‑the‑art ML models for biology. Our team rewards curiosity while maintaining a laser‑focus in bringing products to market. At the forefront of both academic and applied research in this product area, you have the opportunity to work together with a diverse and talented team of scientists, engineers, and product managers and collaborate with other teams.ResponsibilitiesBuild, adapt and evaluate ML models for life sciences applicationsCollaborate with a cross‑functional team of ML scientists, biologists, software engineers and product managersBasic QualificationsPhD in computer science, machine learning, engineering, or related fieldsExperience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++Expert knowledge of machine learning and deep learning; experience in applying ML to protein biologyPreferred QualificationsExperience using Unix / LinuxExperience in professional software developmentExperience in patents or publications at top‑tier peer‑reviewed conferences or journalsExpert knowledge of protein biology and designAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
