You will work on the delivery of Amazon Fulfillment Centers, focusing on automation technologies and storage solutions.The role will deliver medium and large scale material handling systems, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure safety and quality while driving cost savings.Key job responsibilitiesEnd-to-end ownership for medium/large-scale engineering projects (planning, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and launch support)Dive deep on technical details and provide value engineering and innovative solutions to drive frugality and continuous improvementsLead technical design reviews and propose design solutions for material handling and storage solutions that meet both business needs and global design standardsCreate, submit and track relevant CAPEX requests to ensure all projects are delivered within budget and best overall valueAssess and communicate project status, drive escalations on potential risks and delays across multiple teamsOwn the budget for the scope of the project and gain savings while ensuring quality and performanceAssist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to Procurement, Change Management and other partners for best value and competitionCollaborate closely with internal teams such as Engineering, Construction, Operations, Reliability, Maintenance, Procurement, and Change ManagementParticipate/Lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) or process improvement teams to create safer, leaner, and more effective delivery processesMay be responsible for contractor management & teams up to approx. 100 peopleBasic QualificationsBachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or related disciplineExperience interacting with cross-functional teams & subject-matter expertsProven Project/Program Management experience in comparable industrial environmentsExperience using MS Excel, CAD/BIM related software, MS ProjectStrong verbal and written communication skills in both native and English languagesPreferred QualificationsProcess & Quality improvement qualifications such as Six SigmaProject management qualifications such as APMProject execution experience in a construction environment (new build) or operational environment (buildout)Ability to lead internal teams to deliver cross-functional programs and manage vendor relationsKnowledge about automated material handling systems, packaging technologies, and storage solutionsParticipation during a previous new site launchFrench, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Afrikaans and Zulu are considered preferred qualificationLocation and TravelThe role will be based in Italy or Spain with 50% of time travelling domestically or to other EMEA countries.About AmazonAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
