Join our dynamic AWS team and become a critical guardian of global cloud infrastructure You will help maintain the heartbeat of the world's most innovative technology platform, ensuring seamless data center operations that power millions of businesses and services worldwide. Data Center Technicians work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks, communicating effectively, and reacting quickly in a 24/7 environment. They perform hardware and network repair, install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and resolve data center issues. Job ResponsibilitiesPerform server rack installations and hardware break‑fix on various components. Troubleshoot network issues and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed. Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors. Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities. Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues. Help train and onboard new team members. Take ownership of technical issues raised by the customer base, engage other teams when needed to drive resolution, solve problems at their root, and maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection.Physical RequirementsRegularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds. Work in cramped and/or elevated locations. Bend, lift, stretch, and reach as required. Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day. Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely. Work in a noisy environment. Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations, covering both night and day shifts.Essential RequirementsAbility to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed. Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational. Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.Basic QualificationsHigh school or equivalent diploma. Work a flexible work schedule, including evenings, overnights, and weekends. At least 1 year of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a Data Center environment. Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional or military experience in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, networking engineering, etc.). Understanding of network design, protocols, and layer 1/2 troubleshooting.Amazon does not sponsor immigration, including H‑1B, TN, and other non‑immigrant visas for this role. Lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position. The base salary range for this position is USD $27.00–$47.00 per hour. Your total compensation will include sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and benefits such as health, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, EAP, mental health support, medical advice line, flexible spending accounts, adoption and surrogacy reimbursement, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
