We are hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with a focus on next-gen operations at scale, using pure Python infra-as-code, from bare metal to containers and applications.We run hundreds of private cloud, Kubernetes, and application clusters for customers across physical and public cloud estates, and we aim to automate with a universal operator pattern and model-driven operations.ResponsibilitiesArchitect and run OpenStack, Kubernetes and software defined storage environments; enable devsecops for applications running on that infrastructure.Apply Python software engineering skills to the operations domain with discipline and rigor.Participate in automation-driven operations, learning the full stack from bare metal networking and kernel to serverless and open source applications.Support mission-critical services for global brand-name customers in a high-pressure operations environment.Work as part of a team delivering cloud technologies and staying current with the latest open source capabilities.What we are looking forDegree in Software Engineering or Computer ScienceExperience with Linux and familiarity with Linux networking and storagePython software development expertiseOperational experienceExcellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountabilityAbility to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeksNice-to-haveExperience with OpenStack or Kubernetes deployment or operationsFamiliarity with public or private cloud managementWhat we offerDistributed work environment with twice-yearly team sprints in personPersonal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per yearAnnual compensation review and performance-driven bonus or commissionEmployee benefits reflecting company values and fairness globallyAnnual holiday leave; maternity and paternity leaveEmployee Assistance ProgrammeTravel opportunities to connect with colleaguesPriority Pass and travel upgrades for long-haul company eventsAbout CanonicalCanonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the global move to open source.
