Role Description We are seeking a motivated Scientist to join our R&D Metallurgy Lab team, supporting the development and industrialization of innovative metal alloys and related processes. The role involves hands‑on experimental work, characterization, and collaboration on innovation initiatives in metallic materials. Key Responsibilities:to cooperate to radical and incremental innovation in metal and metal alloy materials topics to conceive, develop and establish innovative and enhanced melting and processing to prepare metal alloy ingots (e.g. by melting technics like VIM, VAR, EBM, …) for development and pre‑production purposes to develop and characterize new metal alloys to perform processes to obtain metal powders with suitable properties to investigate innovative approaches for alloys preparation and after‑melting processes (e.g. additive manufacturing) to identify suitable characterization techniques and contribute to improve existing set up to identify material trends and optimization opportunities from characterization data elaboration to assess the performances of materials in terms of composition, processability to semifinished or finished shapes and functional properties to cooperate to the managing of labs activities for ensuring timeframe constraints and team collaborative approach to collaborate to the definition of developmental directions to present and synthesize results to guarantee data analysis interpretation and editing of activity reports to cooperate to represent and promote the Company knowledge both with customers and within the scientific and technical communityQualifications and Skills:Degree in Chemistry, or Materials Science At least 3 years of experience in research and development of new materials (a focus on metallic materials will be considered a plus) Experience in development and characterization of materials; expertise with metal alloys is a plus Ability to define, validate and document new manufacturing processes Motivation to independently develop new alternative processes to improve control of product structure and enhance final properties Ability to effectively present findings or oral arguments Knowledge of melting technics like VIM, VAR or equivalent to preparation of metal alloy ingots Attitude in identifying innovative approaches for alloys preparation and transformation (e.g. additive manufacturing) Italian mother language and good knowledge of written and spoken English Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsLocation: What we offerFull‑time, permanent contract with salary commensurate with experience Access to company benefits A collaborative and innovation‑driven environmentOur Commitment to Diversity: At SAES Getters, we are committed to fostering a workplace that embraces all aspects of diversity and inclusion and where practices are equitable to ensure our people experience a sense of belonging.
