Who You Are As a software engineer for the Amazon Devices business, you will own and execute on some of the long‑term technical initiatives and build products, features, and services that facilitate the entire customer journey starting from search until checkout. This is a highly visible role and inherently cross‑functional—you will work closely with multiple product managers, designers, senior and principal engineers across multiple teams and orgs to deliver new products, features, and services. We already have a lot of exciting, green‑field opportunities on our roadmap ready to go. We are looking for a candidate with a strong technical background, customer obsession and the ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment. You are a champion when it comes to code reviews and design reviews. The ideal candidate will have industry‑leading programming skills and knowledge of object‑oriented development and an established background developing web‑based applications and services across multiple platforms or high‑volume service architectures. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source‑control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
