The team works in a dynamic environment where innovating on behalf of our customers is at the heart of everything we do.Key job responsibilities The Software Development Manager will lead a team of technologists and multiple software developers. Your team will be part of the larger Global App Experience organization, which is responsible for developing the apps and supporting systems for Prime Video (iOS, Android, Smart TVs, Fire TVs, and streaming devices).A day in the lifeReview client architecture designs for scalability, performance, and customer experience impactConduct 1:1s with engineering managers to unblock dependencies and prioritize customer-facing featuresDrive quarterly planning sessions on Prime Video streaming experience initiativesPartner with Product, UX, and engineering leaders on customer experience goals and platform optimizationsPresent engineering progress on key initiatives to Director‑level stakeholdersMonitor client performance metrics, establish SLAs, and drive continuous improvementMentor engineers, lead hiring, and foster innovation in customer experience engineeringBasic Qualifications3+ years of engineering team management experience7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
