The Directorate leverages JRC’s expertise in digital technology, cybersecurity, and data management to deliver strategic, science-based policy insights to support EU digital and data policies.The vacancy is in the Text and Data Mining Unit which researches, develops, and applies advanced methods and tools for mining information from data and text, providing policy makers and JRC partners with relevant, reliable, robust and timely information, tools and data.The successful candidate will join the Europe Media Monitor team as an AI/NLP Researcher and lead innovations in global media analysis to address real-world challenges.Company:European ComissionQualifications:We are looking for a talented and motivated Researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Media Monitoring to join our innovative team.Candidates must have (essential):PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.Peer-reviewed scientific publications in the fields related to AI and natural language processing.At least 2-years of post-graduate experience in AI and machine learning applied to natural language processing.Proficiency in programming Python and domain-specific software (Pandas, PyTorch, and related-tools).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills.The ideal candidate should have (desirable):Experience with media monitoring tools and platforms.Knowledge of other EU languages (in addition to English).Knowledge of Java and SQL programming languages.Language requirements:Very good knowledge of English (C1 level).Educational level:Ph.
