Overview Data Center Operation Technician, Data Center Operations — Job ID: | Amazon Asia-Pacific Resources Private Limited (Singapore). AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the cloud. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles, collaborating to deliver high safety and security standards while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost. AWS Data Center Operations designs, installs, and maintains the world’s largest Computing Infrastructure and supports data center maintenance, parts handling, and issue resolution. Responsibilities You will work as part of the Operations team; primary responsibility is the maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure. Perform server rack installation, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to emergent situations affecting operational stability. Work and meet SLAs against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow; be the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues. Perform on-call duties and participate in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities requiring monitoring of the data center infrastructure. Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and to discuss achieving daily/weekly goals. Understand and apply department policies and procedures, including safety and security. Contribute to documentation on technical issues through root cause analysis and participate in process improvement initiatives relevant to the data center environment. More experienced technicians may assist in training less experienced team members. Involves covering 24x7 shift rotation. Day in the Life Support DC infrastructure equipment (e.g., racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables, etc.). Follow ticket-based instructions and work on systematic problem resolution; perform routine operation activities on hardware or spare parts, including rack install, server break/fix, and rack decommissioning. Be involved with site management and maintain tidiness in operation areas. Show strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving. Cover 24x7 shift rotation. Basic Qualifications Computer/server hardware troubleshooting experience required. Computer networking including fiber troubleshooting experience and theory. Minimum 2+ years of experience in relevant field. Preferred Qualifications Linux operating system, hardware, or networking certifications. Knowledge in cloud computing environments.
