Systems Engineer, Controls Fleet, Data Center Capacity DeliveryJob ID: | Amazon Data Services, Inc.We are seeking a passionate and motivated Systems Engineer to join the Controls Fleet team. In this role, you will deploy and manage critical Windows and Linux infrastructure, build automated solutions, and collaborate with global teams to deliver highly-available systems at massive scale.Key ResponsibilitiesDeploy, manage, and support large-scale Windows and Linux environments, including virtualization platforms and networking components.Create and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell, Python, or Bash, focusing on scalable deployment processes and infrastructure management.Work with AWS or similar cloud platforms to support hybrid infrastructure environments and cloud services.Architect and implement secure, scalable solutions while considering system interdependencies and limitations.Analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions through root‑cause analysis.Document solutions, create training materials, and support team knowledge sharing.Collaborate effectively with global teams, provide technical consultation, and support cross‑functional projects.Identify security risks, develop mitigation plans, and participate in compliance efforts.Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation and be available for up to 20% travel.Travel RequirementMinimal travel required. Expected onsite at a minimum five days a week.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or relevant work experience.4+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration.2+ years of building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments.Experience with Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell, or equivalent scripting languages.Preferred QualificationsDesigning and developing scripts to automate operational burdens and reviewing scripting changes for maintainability, scalability, and security.Experience working in a 24/7 production environment.Experience with service‑oriented architecture and web services.About the TeamThe AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) team owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.
