Administration Officer

A NATO satellite communications station near Verona is looking for a senior administrative assistant. It is a small site, so the role is broad: you would be the person who keeps the administration of the whole station moving, working alongside the chief administrative assistant.

What you would be doing

• Assisting the chief administrative assistant across all administrative activity at the site.
• Helping develop new and improved internal administrative processes for the station.
• Liaising, as directed, with the central administrative departments — HR, the business unit's principal assistant, procurement, finance, travel and training.
• Making sure the site always has adequate bedding and domestic supplies.
• Supporting all personnel on HR, finance, travel and training matters.
• Keeping the registry of incoming and outgoing correspondence, and of leave and sick leave.
• Preparing the paperwork behind temporary duty and transport requests.

What they are looking for

• At least two years in administrative duties.
• Significant experience across the full Microsoft Office suite.
• A driving licence is required.
• Higher secondary education plus completed higher vocational training with a formal technical or professional certification and one year of related experience — or secondary education plus advanced vocational training with a professional qualification and three years.
• English to SLP 2222 (listening, speaking, reading, writing), and the host nation language — Italian. Day-to-day work at the headquarters is mainly in English.

Practical detail

• Lughezzano, Italy — full time on site , normal office environment.
• 28 September to 31 December 2026, 600 hours in total.
• You must hold a valid clearance and be a citizen of a NATO member country with the right to work in Italy.
