Permanent Commissioning Manager (CXa) – Data CentreLocation: Milan, ItalyEmployment Type: PermanentSector: Data Centres / Mission CriticalRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager (CXa) to join our team on a permanent basis, supporting the delivery of large-scale data centre projects in Milan. The successful candidate will act as the Commissioning Authority , leading all commissioning activities from design through construction, testing, and handover, ensuring systems meet performance, resilience, and operational requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the Commissioning Authority (CXa) for mission-critical data centre projectsDevelop and manage the commissioning plan , programme, and proceduresReview design documentation to ensure commissionability , redundancy, and complianceLead commissioning activities for MEP systems including:Electrical (HV/LV, UPS, generators)Mechanical (chillers, CRAH/CRAC, BMS)Coordinate factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs)Manage integrated systems testing (IST) and seasonal testingChair commissioning workshops and progress meetingsEnsure commissioning activities align with TIA-942, Uptime Institute , and client standardsManage handover documentation, O&M manuals, and training for operations teamsIdentify risks and resolve commissioning-related technical issuesEnsure health & safety compliance during commissioning activitiesRequired Experience & SkillsProven experience as a Commissioning Manager / CXa on data centre projectsStrong background in mission-critical MEP systemsExperience delivering projects through design, construction, and live environmentsKnowledge of Uptime Institute Tier certifications and/or TIA standardsAbility to lead multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients, contractors, and designersExcellent reporting, coordination, and communication skillsQualificationsDegree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services EngineeringProfessional certifications (desirable):CXA / CxA accreditationUptime Institute ATD / AOSFluent English required; Italian language skills advantageousWhat’s OfferedPermanent position with a growing data centre delivery teamCompetitive salary and benefits packageLong-term pipeline of hyperscale and colocation data centre projectsOpportunity to lead high-profile mission-critical builds in Italy
