We’re seeking a Network Deploy Technician to join the growing infrastructure operations team. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks and to develop innovative ways to automate and scale our network. You will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing expansive capacity at the lowest possible cost. You’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. Responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations and day-to-day capacity management. You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers. You will leverage your experience supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks and participate in network implementation and troubleshooting. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction, establishing and following best practices and refining operational procedures. Key job responsibilitiesManage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including device configuration and low-level application interaction Travel up to 20% within geographical work area; some travel outside the traditional work area may be requested, including internationally Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment Participate in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware Travel within and outside of the regional work area is required. You must have a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license to travel within the regional work area as company transportation is not provided. Basic QualificationsHigh school or equivalent diploma 1+ year of experience in IT roles such as: Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations, or Technical Project Management Preferred QualificationsData center experience and industry-standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+) Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment Experience with network troubleshooting tools (e.g., VFLs, OTDR, power meters) Understanding of infrastructure technologies including Routers, Switches, Load Balancers and Firewalls Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common Networking Protocols (BGP, OSPF) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay ranges from $50,600/year to $113,200/year, dependent on location and other factors.
