Data Center Technician

Work schedule may vary depending on site and operational needs, and employees may be required to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.Key Job Responsibilities Perform server rack installations and hardware break‑fix on various components.Troubleshoot network issues and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed.Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.Participate in on‑call duties, scheduled maintenance, and change‑management activities.Contribute to documentation and process‑improvement initiatives based on operational analysis.Help train and onboard new team members.Physical Requirements Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.Work in cramped and/or elevated locations.Bend, lift, stretch, and reach as required.Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.Operate in a noisy environment.Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts).Essential Requirements Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of the assigned facility.Must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to active data center sites.About the Team Diverse experiences are valued at AWS. Our inclusive culture emphasizes curiosity, collaboration, and mentorship to help you grow professionally.Basic Qualifications High school or equivalent diploma.1+ year of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.Preferred Qualifications Experience managing priorities through a ticketing system.Experience working in a data center environment.An associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional or military experience in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, networking engineering).Understanding of network design, protocols, and layer 1/2 troubleshooting.Compensation The base pay for this position ranges from $50,600 / year in our lowest geographic market to $113,200 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional components may include equity, sign‑on payments, and other compensation as part of a total compensation package.
