Italdesign is expanding its activities in the field of data-driven project management and the application of Artificial Intelligence to optimize its core engineering processes. We are launching a strategic initiative to build predictive capabilities that will enhance our competitiveness and operational efficiency. During your Project Work, you will be involved in work activities regarding the foundational development of an AI-powered platform for project estimation and management. This includes analysing historical project data, defining a new structured database, engineering high-impact features from technical and financial data, and mapping business processes to ensure the solution delivers tangible value. You will be part of the Project Management team, playing a crucial role in a high-visibility project at the forefront of the company's digital transformation. You will collaborate directly with senior project managers and technical experts to help build the system that will redefine how Italdesign executes future vehicle development projects. Thesis Project As thesis student, you will be supported by your Tutor in order to analyse and develop the following thesis projects about: Conducting initial feature engineering by identifying and prioritizing key drivers from technical and operational data, laying the essential groundwork for the subsequent development of predictive AI models; Analysis of the current project data landscape and definition of a new, structured database schema to create a "single source of truth" for all project-related information; Mapping the current "as-is" process through collaboration with senior Project Managers and Engineers, and identifying key opportunities for AI-driven improvement in the future "to-be" workflow; Key requirements Passion and interest in analyzing complex problems and working with datasets; Good team working skills; Innovation oriented; Responsibility and integrity; Good interpersonal and communicative skills; Flexible and hardworking; Good time management capability and proactivity; Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferential requirements Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts and the typical project lifecycle; Basic knowledge of the automotive industry and vehicle development processes; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders; Proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to manage a research project with autonomy. Additional Information Education: Attending a Master’s Degree in Management Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Automotive Engineering, or related technical field; Language skills: Fluent knowledge of written and spoken Italian and English (at least B2 level); Workplace: Moncalieri (TO), Italy; Contract type: thesis project with estimated duration about 6 months; Benefit: company canteen, multicultural and enriching environment.
