Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.Key job responsibilitiesCan apply a deep understanding of a broad range of tools, equipment, and handling machinery to accomplish your daily tasks effectively and efficientlyUpholds all safety requirements in all zones and work locations of responsibilityAssists in the development of new and junior team members and adheres to standards and proceduresIndependently execute and prioritize work to meet production schedulesIntegration and test of the Kuiper satellite and various complex sub‑assemblies in a clean‑room and electrostatic discharge (ESD) controlled environmentRigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive flight hardwareAble to obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and/or certifications as requiredUse precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multi‑meters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipersRead and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentationPerform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructionsRun functional and environmental testing on units, including some basic troubleshooting operationsUse computer software programs for controlling testsCheck and inspect your work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawing and work instruction requirementsCollaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunitiesPerform other duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient, safe and effective work environmentWilling to work overtime and weekends as requiredShift schedule will vary, depending on production/launch schedulesMust be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25% annually, either domestically or internationally as business needs demandA day in the lifeThe Processing Technician will lead work to ensure junior technicians complete tasks and ensure procedures are adhered to and work is completed during quality and operations on flight hardware integration processes. This position requires skill and experience in a variety of areas, including mechanical assembly, propellant loading, rigging, electrical checkouts and satellite troubleshooting. In short, you will be responsible for a majority of the most critical tasks to process & integrate the Kuiper satellite for launch, ensuring high quality, workmanship and safety standards are adhered to on a daily basis.About the teamHere at Amazon, we embrace our differences. The base pay for this position ranges from $71,760/year in our lowest geographic market up to $76,960/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
