Offer Description
The research programme, which is part of the broaderproject “School Culture” promoted by the Centre forTeacher Education at the University of pavia,investigates Italian students’ informal exposure to English, with a view to enhancing English language learning in secondary education. It examines the types of English-language input adolescents are exposed to in their leisure time, the devicesand platforms they use, the duration of exposure andpurposes of engagement. Attention will also be given to the role of artificial intelligence in informal contact with English. The study will provide empirical evidence on informal English language learning in Italian secondary school,promoting more informed, inclusive and context-sensitive teaching practices that engage with adolescents’ linguistic experiences.
The public call with detailed attendance and selection rules (Art 4 and 6) can be found at: selections are open to candidates, Italian or foreigner, in possession, on the date of the deadline for submitting applications for the admission to the selection, of a master's degree or single-cycle, degree obtained no more than six years previously are eligible to participate in the selection process. These degrees must be relevant to the subject of the research activity.Further specific assessable qualifications (see Art. 1 par. 1 Call for applications):Ph D in English Linguistics.Documented experience in teacher training.Research periods at universities and research institutions abroad.
