About the Product Management Team Our product managers are technologists who define clear product vision, prioritize work, and ensure high‑quality releases that meet business and user needs. They lead cross‑functional collaboration, drive product strategy, and passionately advocate for open source. Product Domains Ubuntu Platform – Desktop, Server, Windows (WSL), Multipass, Gaming, Enterprise, and Hardware Enablement Ubuntu Pro Services – Ubuntu Pro, Compliance, Standards, Security Engineering, and Managed Services on cloud and on‑prem AI/ML & MLOps – Open source AI/ML solutions, AIOps automation, model lifecycle management, Kubeflow, MLFlow, KServe, and AI infrastructure on cloud and edge IoT – Embedded devices and edge servers, device management, and robotics Cloud – Public and private clouds, automation frameworks, Kubernetes, MAAS, and LXD Telco – Core Network, RAN/vRAN, SoNIC, DENT, and SmartNICs Finance – Trading platforms, blockchain, regulatory compliance, and AI‑driven analytics Automotive – Autonomous driving, infotainment, connected vehicles, ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 compliance Application Management – Observability, IAM, App Stores, Grafana, GitOps, and Juju Charms Location These roles are home based in the EMEA time zone. Candidates must be located within this region. Seniority Level and Employment Type Mid‑Senior level; Full‑time. Responsibilities Lead the product development lifecycle, reviewing priorities and goals. Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams. Address common project challenges, align priorities, and keep business execution on track. Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities. Communicate product vision, status updates, and key decisions to ensure alignment and manage expectations. Conduct usability testing, analyze user feedback, and iterate on the product to improve the user experience. Collaborate with marketing, sales, and support to develop go‑to‑market strategies, create documentation, and provide training. Contribute to sales success by reviewing customer feedback and participating in customer meetings. Oversee product line work, ensuring consistency in strategy and execution across teams. Facilitate collaboration and resolve conflicts within and across departments. Qualifications Exceptional academic results at high school and university. Understanding of Linux and the open source community. Knowledge of computer architecture, application development, datacenters, cloud, or devices. Passion to write about technologies and the tech landscape. Strong work ethic with personal interests aligned with open source. Continuous learning habit. Strong sense of ownership. Problem‑solving and innovation abilities. Outstanding communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Product‑management experience in the software industry for senior roles. Ability to manage multiple projects or product lines while focusing on priorities. Demonstrated leadership in aligning diverse teams and driving consensus. Willingness to travel internationally up to four times per year for company events up to two weeks. Additional Skills We Value Familiarity with particular verticals such as Telco, Finance, Industrial, or Automotive. Familiarity with ecosystems including Silicon, IHV, ISV, ODM/OEMs, cloud service providers, and channel partners. Experience with cloud‑native technologies – Kubernetes, Docker containers, and Snaps. Familiarity with embedded and connected device technology and ecosystems. Knowledge of networking technologies – ethernet, IPv4/IPv6, routing, firewalling, overlays such as OVN/OVS, VPNs, SR‑IOV, InfiniBand. Experience leading distributed teams across time zones.
