Development Coordinator JDLutheran Valley Retreat Employees shall first be servants of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, manifest a spirit of hospitality and service in graciously dealing with service recipients, and all other people, and a strong sense of commitment to teamwork with other employees.QualificationsCommitted to the mission of LVR.At least five years of development experience.Preferable experience with major gifts and capital campaigns.Background with LVR will be very helpful.General ResponsibilitiesExpand the donor base and annual fund program to individuals, organizations, businesses and foundations.Implement the capital campaign effort among regional constituents.Participate in a complete planned giving program.Work with other staff in the production of development publications, printed materials and A-V resources.Specific ResponsibilitiesA. Personal Cultivation and SolicitationConduct regular and systematic person-to-person calls on donors and prospects to present charitable needs and seek gifts, including annual fund, capital and planned gifts.Assist the staff in the recruitment of volunteers who will conduct solicitation visits.Work closely with financial advisors and professional gift planners to assist donors in planning gifts.Promote annual and planned gift recognition programs consistently.Maintain proper prospect and donor assignment records and record all gifts.Provide proper, prompt and genuine thanks and recognition to all donors.B. Capital CampaignActively involved in the development of all capital/special gift projects and programs.Supervise and participate in implementation of all capital/special gifts efforts.Develop print materials in cooperation with campaign consultants and other media related to capital/special gift efforts.Recruit, train, supervise and support campaign volunteers.Actively participate in cultivation and solicitation of campaign contributions.E. Support FunctionsAssist in the production of print materials, including newsletters, brochures, direct mail solicitation donor communications, annual reports and AV resources.Work with other staff to seek their support and participation in the development program.Serve as a member of the LVR Leadership Team.SupportThe Development Coordinator is responsible to the Executive Director. The Business Manager and Marketing Coordinator shall work in support of the Development Officer and coordinate office in support of the total development program, including gift thank you’s and data entry completed by the Business Manager and Marketing Manager.Performance ReviewConducted annually by the Executive Director.Why work at Lutheran Valley RetreatLVR is a truly remote camp, completely surrounded by Pike National Forest, allowing for staff and campers to let go of the world and focus on their faith.
