Job Description:
Leonardo is an international industrial group, among the world's leading companies in Aerospace, Defense, and Security, which creates multi-domain technological capabilities in Helicopters, Aircraft, Aerostructures, Electronics, Cyber Security, and Space. With over 60,000 employees worldwide, the company has a strong industrial presence in Italy, the United Kingdom, Poland, the United States, and operates in 150 countries also through subsidiaries, joint ventures, and participations. A key player in major global strategic programs, it is a technological and industrial partner for Governments, Defense Administrations, Institutions, and businesses. In 2024, Leonardo recorded consolidated revenues of €17.8 billion, new orders of €20.9 billion, and invested €2.5 billion in R&D activities. Innovation, continuous research, digital industry, and sustainability are the pillars of its business worldwide.
Experienced tutors in their field will guide you, allowing you to deepen your theoretical knowledge and develop your thesis, preparing you in the best possible way for future professional challenges.
The topics proposed for theses to be developed at Leonardo cover a wide spectrum of technological, research, and innovation areas: from Artificial Intelligence to High-Performance Computing, from Cyber Security to Materials Engineering, through to aerospace sectors. You will be able to explore the most cutting-edge areas of your field of study, with creativity and a spirit of innovation.
To support you during this experience, which will last a maximum of six months, an expense reimbursement is also provided.
We are looking for 1 young student to join us for an internship with the aim of developing their thesis titled "Study, methodology, and preliminary design of a radar blocker geometry" at the Turin Corso Francia site.
The radar blocker is an element introduced within the duct to reduce reflections produced by the duct itself. The creation of a state-of-the-art on the use and shape of the blocker then allows for multifield optimization from a simulation point of view. This comparison with a second subject (aerodynamics for CFD analysis) can be an added value to the thesis.
The candidate will contribute to the design of the geometry of a unit cell and subsequently of an entire radar blocker element. They will have access to the necessary software and hardware for study, design, and radar cross-section simulation activities.
Educational Qualification: Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, or Applied Electromagnetism.
Seniority: Junior
Technical knowledge and skills:
* Good knowledge of basic electromagnetism, transmission lines, and general electronics;
* Knowledge and/or familiarity with the use of simulation tools (i.e., one of the following: CST/FEKO/HFSS) are considered a plus.
Behavioral skills:
* Proactivity;
* Ability to work in a team;
* Learning orientation;
* Flexibility;
* Communication;
* Interest in aeronautical systems and electrification technologies.
Language skills:
* Good knowledge of written and spoken English at B2/C1 level.
Computer skills:
* Python;
* MatLab;
* Microsoft Office (Word; PowerPoint) and/or Latex.
How does the selection process work?
Following the collection of applications, the CVs most in line with the required qualifications are evaluated and identified.
Selected candidates undergo an introductory interview with the Human Resources team and with the Business, where technical topics, motivation, and personal attitudes will be explored.
At the end of the process, the person receives feedback, whether the outcome is positive or negative.
We look forward to your application.
*Collaborating with us will allow you to constantly face the challenges of high technology, increase your skills, and build a professional path of excellence.*
Seniority: Junior
Primary Location: IT - Torino - C.so Francia
Contract Type:
Total Base Pay Range:
Hybrid Working: In loco
