We are looking for a passionate, talented Software Development Engineer who can drive key engineering and business decisions that impact Amazon’s long‑term vision, including innovation in the delivery and consumption of media and entertainment. In this development role, you will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of state‑of‑the‑art products used every day by people you know. As a Software Development Engineer in the team, you will engage with an experienced cross‑disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products by developing and integrating Android‑based features and applications. Key Job Responsibilities The development of new Android innovative features and applications and initiatives across the organization. Investigate, prototype, and deliver new and innovative software applications. Deliver high‑quality software through working in a diverse, team‑focused Agile/Scrum environment. Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver quality work. Support the development activities by being onsite with the partners and vendors. We are a team of passionate individuals, proud of what we deliver for our customers. We work with Scrum ceremonies and agile ways of working, reviewing our processes during retrospectives and by periodically discussing our team ’ways of working’. No process is set in stone and we believe in constant incremental improvement. Basic Qualifications Experience in professional, non‑internship software development. Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object‑oriented design. Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence. Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
