Senior Audio Software Development Engineer As a Senior Audio Software Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, optimizing, triaging and supporting audio functionalities for embedded systems. As part of the larger technology team working on new consumer technology, your work will have a large impact to hardware, internal software developers, ecosystem, and ultimately the lives of Amazon customers.If you have one or more of the below skills, then this job is for you:Exposure to Audio software stack on Android/QNX/proprietary OS including Audio Flinger, Audio HALExposure to ARM, DSP architecturesExpertise in ALSA / Pulse AudioExposure to Dolby MS12 / DTS/ MPEG-TSExposure to Audio/Video SyncExposure to STB / DTV audio systemsWorking knowledge of Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, and Audio Tools including Audio PrecisionKey job responsibilitiesDesign audio features that work across various embedded productsDevelop audio software that runs on ARM/DSP using Bare metal, Linux and other high level OSesOptimization and porting audio and speech processing algorithmsIntegration of vendor hardware and software stacksTune hardware for highest audio performance and lowest noiseBe passionate, responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environmentBe able and willing to multi-task and learn new technologies quicklyBasic Qualifications10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering teamPreferred Qualifications5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
