You’ll also need to effectively translate research findings into practical solutions.A Day in the LifeYou will solve real-world problems by getting and analyzing large amounts of data, generate insights and opportunities, design simulations and experiments, and develop statistical and ML models. The team is driven by business needs, which requires collaboration with other Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers across the Special Projects organization. We're looking for builders who are excited about working on ambitious, undefined problems and are comfortable with ambiguity.Basic Qualifications3+ years of building models for business application experiencePhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experienceExperience in patents or publications at top‑tier peer‑reviewed conferences or journalsExperience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languageExperience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high‑performance computingPreferred QualificationsExperience using Unix/LinuxExperience in professional software developmentAdvance knowledge of machine learning, deep/natural learning, predictive modeling and large language models.Experience in reinforcement learning (RL) or retrieval augmented generation (RAG)Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
