This key position will drive safety initiatives and guide field teams in developing effective decision‑making tools for site managers. You'll evaluate Fulfillment Center RME departments' performance and implement proven practices to improve reliability metrics. Your mission: champion workplace safety, maximize equipment uptime, and optimize operational costs in our fast‑paced fulfillment network.The ideal candidate brings extensive expertise in facilities maintenance, workplace safety, and data‑driven leadership. Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) systems, packaging automation, distribution processes, and storage systems is valuable. We need a self‑starter who excels at managing multiple complex projects while building strong relationships across all organizational levels. The role requires oversight of maintenance acceptance for large‑scale projects and the ability to provide technical leadership to facilities maintenance teams.Key ResponsibilitiesChampion safety standards and drive team complianceLead and mentor field‑based Facilities Managers to expand and improve Amazon's North American Fulfillment NetworkDrive maintenance excellence through innovation, documentation, standardization, and safety practicesGuide senior leadership on maintenance and equipment end‑of‑life (EOL) decisions using ROI analysisOversee budget development, execution, and capital planningManage vendor relationships and maximize network economies of scaleMonitor and audit maintenance execution and safety practices across sitesCoordinate maintenance teams across North AmericaDevelop and manage contract documents, including RFPs and purchase ordersSupport Fulfillment Center General Managers in facilities managementRecruit and hire exceptional talent for Facilities Maintenance rolesBuild a world‑class facilities maintenance organizationRelocate as needed for Amazon's business needsBasic Qualifications10+ years of managing large complex facilities organizations7+ years of senior management and leadership responsibilitiesBachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; or BS/BA with 4+ years experience in maintenance or 2+ years Amazon experiencePrevious corporate and/or regional facilities roles leading 250 or more employees including salaried employeesExperience leading change in a multiple‑site environment7+ years experience managing employees and their performanceAbility to travel up to 80%Preferred QualificationsStrong communication, teambuilding, and influencing skillsThrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, with high expectationsManufacturing or complex industry experience and maintenance reporting experienceThink big Proficient data analyst and new processes developer/adapterSelf‑starter. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $216,500/year in our highest geographic market.
