We\'re the people who keep the cloud running and support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You\'ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You\'ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Lump sum stipends may be provided to eligible candidates who relocate.Key responsibilitiesPerform server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, respond to operational incidents affecting service availability, and carry out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to AWS service availabilityServe as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractorsPerform on-call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activitiesContribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issuesHelp interview, train and onboard new team membersPhysical RequirementsLifting and moving material up to 40 poundsWorking in cramped and/or elevated locationsBending, lifting, stretching, and reachingStanding and walking for up to 8+ hours a dayAscending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safelyWork environmentWork in an industrial environmentShifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts)Role may be assigned to a facility still under development and may require travel to established locations for training until the site becomes fully operationalEssential RequirementsAbility to travel to or commute between data center locations as neededWillingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility is operationalTravel frequency will vary based on business needs and facility statusCandidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data center sites as required by business needs.A day in the lifeTake ownership of technical issues brought by customers, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolutionDemonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitudeAddress root causes and understand broader contextMaintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reportingBe proactive and capable of acting in the absence of directionImprove effectiveness through process innovationYou will be required to work shift work that includes days/nights/weekends/holidays.Team culture and qualificationsWe value diverse experiences and encourage candidates to apply even if you do not meet all preferred qualifications.
