And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Regional Chief Engineer (CE) to join our Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Team. This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports AWS. Specifically, this team works to ensure the safe and secure operation of the data center's Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure to provide 99.999% availability for our customers. In this specific case, High Voltage Sub-Station (HVSS) experience is at a premium given the infrastructure layout of the PHX region.The Regional CE is responsible for ensuring that all MEP equipment within the region is operating at peak efficiency. This involves planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response. The Regional CE serves as an expert technical resource interacting with on-site Engineering Operations Technicians (EOT), CEs, Facility Managers (FM), and third party vendors.The Regional CE also manages medium-to-large projects and programs from conception to completion. These projects and programs involve large amounts of independent work, as well as, collaboration with external support groups including engineering, automation, processing, and finance in both local and global settings. The goals of such projects are for the Regional CE to drive innovation and resiliency while reducing operational costs in the facilities.Key Job ResponsibilitiesOversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center, to include HVSSOperate independently with limited direct managementAct as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the regionPerform root cause analysis of equipment failuresCreate and deploy new standard practices for EOTs, CEs, and vendor support teamsProvide training and guidance to EOTs, CEs, and FMsEnsure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendor and Amazon staffCommunicate complex technical information to a non-technical audienceWork cross-functionally across teams to effect cluster-wide performance improvement with our internal and external partners by designing and implementing processes, metrics, and programs that enhance the end to end employee experienceCollaborate effectively across teams to define strategy, goals, and obtain commitment to timelines and deliverablesAbout the TeamDiverse Experiences. The base pay for this position ranges from $98,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
