We partner with clients around the world to respond proactively and transparently to regulatory requirements and solve the most complex challenges in financial risk management and performance measurement.SS&C Algorithmics is seeking a highly motivated technical consultant to provide clients with a comprehensive range of skills to support the implementation of end-to-end financial risk solutions, primarily in support of risk management and regulatory requirements.This role will involve the provision of support and consultancy to ensure our clients receive the best possible advice, guidance, and quality of service. A project-based role delivering product specialist knowledge in system implementations and client support focusing, but not wholly, on the SS&C Algorithmics Enterprise suite of Risk Management solutions.Why You Will Love It HereFlexibility : Hybrid Work ModelYour Future: Professional Development Reimbursement including access to SS&C UniversityWork/Life Balance: Competitive holiday schemeYour Wellbeing: Competitive benefits designed to support the wellbeing of our staffDiversity & Inclusion: Committed to Welcoming, Celebrating and Thriving on DiversityTraining: Hands-On, Team-Customized throughout your careerWhat You Will Get To Do:Provide consultancy and product support internally and to clients based on an understanding of the SS&C Algorithmics product suite and implementation requirements.Define and scope configuration, interfacing and enhancement work with project managers, senior technical engineers, and financial engineers.Undertake setup and configuration of the SS&C Algorithmics and third-party products (database, middleware, reporting solutions) troubleshooting, testing (functional and volume) for original installation and system upgrades.Install products and customized components on client sites, or remotely, and assist with acceptance tests and provide first line support following implementation.Develop customized solutions and modules in a range of development tools, typically, Python, Perl and shell scripting.Design and implement interfaces between client’s data and SS&C Algorithmics products. This will largely involve the SS&CAlgorithmics data mapping tool and definition of data required from the client’s systems.Where appropriate deliver training via formal training courses and workshop sessions internally and to clients.Deliver product overviews and lead discussions in client pre-sales, develop pilot and proof of concept solutions.Conduct research, data collection and analysis to prepare, present and deliver recommendations and solutions to clients.Use a range of methodologies, assets and work products to produce deliverables.Create and use intellectual capital to solve diverse, business issues in innovative ways.Understand technology to offer clients' recommendations and solutions that meet their business and IT needs as appropriate.Participate in the delivery and implementation of solutions for clients.Work with various SS&C stakeholders including product owners, development teams and testers to deliver robust solutions.To help troubleshoot errors, performance issues, and license problems encountered by customers during implementation.What You Will Bring:Degree (preferably numerate/technical) or equivalent2-3+ years of working experienceOral communication in EnglishGood hands-on use of LinuxStrong scripting experience with shellStrong programming experience with at least one language (Python, Perl, Java or similar)Familiarity with database essentials (SQL, installation, sizing, performance) Experienced DBA skills not essential, but familiarity with using one current RDBMS is preferred.Ability to address and use initiative to deliver solutions to technical and business problems.Ability and desire to adapt, learn and explore new technologies.High degree of initiative and learning to work with complex software products with minimal supervision.Capacity to estimate, manage own work, and keep within plan.Presentation and communication skillsDesired:Understanding of the financial marketplace (market data, fixed income products, derivatives) in terms of the underlying dataExposure to or familiarity with risk management (market risk/credit risk/ALM)Exposure to or familiarity with financial analytics and market dataConsulting skills, client-facing cultureFamiliarity with web-based delivery, Java componentsFamiliarity with DevOps and software versioning: Kubernetes, Git, AnsibleFamiliarity with Grid and/or cloud computingExperience with middleware solutionsEEO Statement / Non-agency DisclosureWe encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups, to enable us to bring a diversity of perspectives to our thinking and conversation.
