We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Group & Events Manager to join our Thompson Rome Pre-Opening TeamAbout the role:We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Group & Events Manager to join our Sales Team This role is ideal for a dynamic hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced luxury environment and enjoys building relationships, coordinating exceptional events, and supporting commercial success.
The Group & Events Manager will support the Sales & Marketing Director creating and updating databases, replying to guests' requests as per Hyatt's policies. He/She will create relationships and take care of client communication while ensuring an elevated level of service aligned with Thompson and Hyatt standards.
Main ResponsibilitiesHandles corporate, leisure, and group enquiriesCoordinate event logistics and client communication from inquiry to executionPrepare proposals, contracts, event orders, and follow-up documentationCoordinate and oversee all aspects of banquet events, ensuring high-quality service.
Curate and develop an engaging music program, selecting DJs and artists for special events.
Create unique events conceiving and implementing bespoke weekly and monthly events that break away from standard formatsMonitor and update the artistic lineup on a quarterly basis, initiating collaborations with emerging and local artists.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, artists, and collaborators, building a network essential for event success.
Manage event budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and the achievement of revenue targets, collaborating with the F&B Director and the Executive ChefMaintain and update sales systems, databases, and reporting toolsAssist in site inspections, client meetings, and hotel presentationsBuild strong relationships with guests, agencies, and business partnersCollaborate closely with Operations, Revenue, F&B, and Front Office teams to ensure seamless event executionParticipate to promotional events, trade fairs, and networking activities Ensure all administrative tasks are completed accurately and within deadlinesQualifications & SkillsDegree in Event Management, Marketing, Hospitality, Communications, or a related field.
At least 3–5 years of experience in event management, preferably in hotels and innovative or creative environments.
Strong creative and problem-solving abilities, with a keen aesthetic sense.
Networking: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive partnerships.
Time Management: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in Italian and English.
