JOBSUMMARY:

Provide services in support of the overall operational objectives of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Europe, Africa, Central (NAVFAC EURAFCENT) and its effort to provide facilities and engineering support to Naval Support Activity (NSA) Bahrain and its areas of responsibilities.Primary duties are to provide planning, estimating, scheduling, engineering, project management and administrative services with a primary work location at NSA Naples (Capodichino) but with temporary travel trips to NSA Bahrain. NSA Bahrain is comprised of four (4) installations known as NSA 1, NSA 2, NSA 3 and Isa Air Base.

EDUCATIONandEXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor Degree in an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology program and minimum of 5 years of Mechanical systems design including at least 1 year working on Capital Improvement projects for a Federal Agency.
• Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering is desired.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional mechanical engineering code compliant facilities design experience for new construction, including renovation design experience, is required.
• Completion of a course of studies accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineers and Technology (ABET) for a mechanical engineering program from a college or university earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, supplemented by a considerable amount of hands‑on facilities design experience, is required.
• Prepare detailed designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for industrial processes, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, compressed air, energy saving and conversion systems, pneumatic transport systems, control systems, utility systems, fuel oil systems, natural gas systems, pier mechanical systems, and other systems of major size and complexity of up to MILCON scope for use by Naval Shore Facilities, including multistory offices and quarters, steam plants, industrial waste treatment plants, ship piers, naval nuclear repair facilities, aircraft overhaul facilities and a very wide diversion of other structures and facilities.
• Provide independent, timely and professional specialized mechanical engineering support, services and consultation for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of facilities for the Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Commands, including minor works projects, specific projects, special projects, military construction (MILCON), demolition, maintenance, space utilization and facilities development. Participates in conferences with project stakeholders and collaborates with other engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure system coordination and integration with specific project requirements.
• Typical projects include: mechanical engineering services for plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems; chilled water, steam, hot water, compressed gasses, natural gas, fuel distribution and storage, energy saving and conversion systems, renewable energy/energy efficient systems/studies, and power distribution and generation systems, large utility plants and distribution systems, air pollution control, water and waste water control systems, process and chemical process piping systems, piping and
