Job DescriptionDesign Project Manager – Data Centre Design & Delivery (MEP Focus) Location: Milan, Italy (Hybrid) Projects: New-build & live AI / Hyperscale Data Centres across Italy, France & the UKThe Opportunity We’re partnered with a leading Data Centre consultancy that’s scaling rapidly across Europe. They’re now looking to appoint a Design Project Manager to join their Milan office, taking ownership of complex, mission-critical Data Centre programmes.This Senior Project Manager role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-stakes environments, enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams, and wants to sit at the centre of AI-enabled Data Centre delivery across Europe. As a Design Project Manager, you’ll play a critical role in driving delivery excellence, stakeholder alignment, and project outcomes. What you’ll be doing As Design Project Manager, you will:• Lead the end-to-end delivery of new-build and live Data Centre projects • Manage multidisciplinary MEP design and delivery teams across full project lifecycles • Take full ownership as Design Project Manager for programme delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification • Provide oversight of Data Centre MEP design, technical coordination, and quality assurance • Manage AutoCAD / Revit-based workflows in line with Data Centre standards • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders • Support the integration of AI-focused design and delivery processes (AI experience not required) • Deliver projects across Italy, France, and the UK • Mentor engineers and project team members, supporting a collaborative, high-performance culture • Contribute as Design Project Manager to resource planning, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives What we’re looking for • Proven experience operating as a Design Project Manager within MEP, Building Services, or mission-critical environments • Demonstrated success delivering Data Centre or complex technical projects • Strong understanding of MEP systems and Data Centre infrastructure • Experience managing design teams, consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit • Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence at senior levels • Commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets, schedules, and project scopes • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset suited to a Senior Project Manager role in a fast-paced environment Why this role stands out • High-impact Senior Project Manager role on AI and hyperscale Data Centre programmes • Strong visibility within a scaling European Data Centre specialist • Opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to influence delivery strategy and best practice • Long-term career progression across European programmes • Hybrid working with international project exposure If this Design Project Manager role could be of interest, or you know someone who may be a great fit, please reach out to Hillary Gutu for more information or apply directly.
