YOUR FUTURE TEAM

The team is a virtual and dynamic team spread across Southern Europe (France, Spain & Italy). The team is made of 4 different roles within the region, including your future manager Ruud Claassen based in France. The role will be based in our office in Milan. You will be responsible for the full accounting in Spain and Italy, whereas your teammates will focus on other geographical areas, like France. Take a closer look at your future team:
WHAT WILL YOU DO?

The General Accountant is responsible for keeping and issuing all financial records for Axis’ Spanish and Italian legal entities: costs, mark-up invoices, accounts payable, bank payments and receipts, accruals and provisions, and information for payroll, taxes, and social security.

From an operational point of view, the General Accountant executes and reconciles all daily and monthly accounting activities in our ERP/accounting system IFS. This includes booking all supplier invoices, booking the movements in the bank, the payroll, expense notes, fixed asset depreciation, VAT declaration, provisions/accruals, etc. The General Accountant takes care of monthly reporting to HQ, the coordination around local statutory reporting, cost control, and internal control aspects.

The role interfaces with e.g. HR and the Office Managers. The General Accountant will be the only finance person taking care of the bookkeeping for the Italian and Spanish legal entities, so needs to be able to work independently in the role, while being part of the bigger team of course. He or she will also represent the company with banks, auditors, and external consultants regarding taxes and legal regulations in the country.

So the responsibilities include:

- Update the general ledger with journal entries daily (supplier invoices, bank movements, accruals/provisions, payroll, social security, taxes, etc.
- Close the general ledger monthly, and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
- Manage accounting module (IFS) closing at the end of each month and report to HQ
- Responsible for petty cash and cash flow management, assets, and depreciation
- Analyse deviations from one period to another
- Prepare monthly reconciliation and payment of all local taxes and social security
- Stay up to date with changing local regulations and make sure the company is compliant

Occasional travel will be required: to Spain, in the region of Southern Europe or to the HQ in Sweden.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We believe you are independent and don’t have any issues challenging “the status quo”. You are motivated by numbers, and you cry happy tears when documents, sheets, and reports are kept structured and clean.

We also believe that you are reliable and consistent in your way of keeping books and being compliant. Finally, we believe you are a team player who loves to share smiles and create a better place to work together with your colleagues.

We’d love to hear that you have/are:

- At least 3 years of experience in accounting
- Fluent in Italian and good level of English language, written and spoken
- A degree in Business Administration/Finance etc.
- Experienced in an accounting system (preferably IFS)
- Excellent skills in Office 365 (most important Excel)
- Bonus points for language skills in Spanish, written and spoken
