Accountant

Axa Partners Italy is looking for an Accountant. Type of contract: permanent CCNL: Ania Location: Milan In the branch, the accounting department would be in charge and accountable of: - Support local controller the production of closing information in several GAAPs (IFRS, FRGAAP, Local GAAP); - Compliance to local regulatory and tax requirements (declarations, payments); - Support and setup procedures related to data quality control between several systems; - Support Technical teams in solving data issues impacting accounting (mainly RI team); In the branch, the accounting department would be in charge and accountable for: Financial closing IFRS and FRGAAP - Monthly clearing of SAP and its subsystems at account/entries level to ensure open items are identified and addressed; - Post manual entries directly into SAP general ledger; - Manage manual payments of risk carriers and support central AP team on the intermediary expenses; - Support controller in Managing the local finance/accounting budget, ensuring it is met or savings are achieved; - The production of closing information for French (annual) and IFRS (quarterly) GAAPs in accordance with AXA France standards for all the branches in scope, and responsible for its quality; - Support country controller on the production of contributors’ pack at branch level as per HQ needs, as this information will be used to build and feed internal reporting at consolidated level: - Tax pack, produce CT and DT IFRS accruals and all internal reporting schedules; - Tax forecast (based on pre-tax given by FP&A); - Analytical Reviews of B/S and P&L; - Quarterly Full reconciliation of B/S (including subsystems); - Expenses Forecast and monitor its expenses (in respect to the accounting department); - Strong regular review and monitoring of the current accounts, combined with the need to on-board new deliverable requirements internal to AXA France and AXA Group; - Support HQ in any ah-hoc request; LOCAL GAAP - The production of local GAAP accounts for the branches (regular and controlled sending of information to the external accountancy firm and strong supervision of external accountant output is required); - Produce strong, robust and auditable reconciliation for all restatements between IFRS vs. Local GAAP; - Responsible for local tax requirements coordination, accuracy and timely deliver and as (direct and indirect and other reports) declarations, payments, external audit, liaising with external consultants for CIT and TP, replies to Tax Office, etc.; - Responsible for local regulatory compliance and reporting as far it concerns accounting information, and act as coordinator if data needs to come from other functions; - Manage External Statutory Audit and Tax Audit, external TP consultants and external actuarial firm; - Support and steer the local branch in any ad-hoc situation. Data quality - Support the coordination and review of accounts’ reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly basis/half-year basis; - Reconciliation of multiple operating systems to general ledger, and ensure items are being cleared in the operational systems (TIA to OPERAS to SAP, WebXL to OPERAS to SAP, Manual entries, etc); - Manage audit and perform the reconciliation of the current accounts justification, in relationship with technical teams; - Drive resolution of any issues to ensure accounts are reconciled and pass quality review and discuss reconciliation issues with the Controller to ensure deadlines met; - Support the Country Controller to setup new procedures related to data quality control; Organizational - Direct reporting line to the Country Controller and indirect reporting to management; - Prepare closing calendars and anticipate organizational topics in order to meet all accounting requirements and deadlines of AXA France / Group and local requirements; - Drive agreed transactional accounting process standardization and automations; - Work with Reinsurance, Operations, Actuarial and Business Controls Teams as and when required to ensure best controls on accounting accuracy and completeness; - Support, when needed, to business operation and participation to discussion leading to specific contract treatment with an impact on accounting schemes. **Your Profile** Essential skills and competences: - Educated to degree level with major in accounting and finance; - Minimum 4/5 years accounting in insurance industry (proven track record); - Strong knowledge of accounting (knowledge in business controlling is desirable); - Strong Knowledge in local accounting, tax and regulation; - Experience in handling Tax office queries; - Comfortable working in a multi GAAP environment (and multiple systems); - Proficient with financial spreadsheet packages (e.g. Excel); - Delivery oriented, rigor, autonomy, taste for numbers, sense of organization and periodization; - Natural curiosity, capacity to challenge, analyze and communicate in a clear and synthetized manner; - Fluent in Italian & E
