Operations Manager

**Position Summary**:
We are looking for an Operations Manager to join our team in Calcinate (BG) who will be responsible and accountable for customer management, operational management, quality performance, engineering, Health&Safety, Security and Environmental management of the AST ITA Plant. The Operations Manager will provide regular and appropriate performance informations to STERIS Managers/Director and ensure compliance to all relevant Company and legal regulations.

**Duties**:

- Ensure safe operations of the plant and company by development of an effective safety culture, enforcement of safety practices in compliance to internal and external requirements and regulations.
- In conjunction with the (Senior) Sales Managers ensure the effective management of existing and new Customers and drive Customer satisfaction.
- Provide Leadership to ensure continuous improvement of business processes and activities in line with STERIS world class safety objectives and the Quality management system.
- Manage and develop 20+ staff, allocate resources and assign specific duties to achieve pre-determined commercial and business objectives for the business in the plant
- Ensure that the business operates within and towards the published STERIS Corporate vision and global objectives, including LEAN, 5S, Sustainability and One Team One Goal strategies.***

**Education Degree**:

- High School Diploma or GED

**Required Experience**:

- 5 or more years of relevant work experience
- Proven technical capability

**Skills**:

- Proven leadership qualities (leading by example)
- Acute awareness of the importance of safety to the business
- Willing to go the extra mile for our Customers (Customer First, always)
- Good understanding of the principle of continuous improvement
- Well-developed understanding of risk and risk avoidance
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
- Good understanding of the local business market. Some exposure to the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industries would be a distinct advantage
- Significant Decision Making or Problem Solving authority
