**Main responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Associate Director Communication, Advocacy and Policy, the External Communication Specialist, within the Corporate Affairs department, will be contributing to a variety of communications activities to support the Ely Lilly’s strategic positioning in Italy, both corporate and in the main therapeutic areas.
The position will be located in Rome, Italy.

**Key tasks**:
The External Communication Specialist will act as general support to the Communication and Media Relations team for all current activities:

- Implementation of media materials such as press releases, press factsheets, press coverage document etc.
- Daily monitoring of press review.
- Distribute press releases to media to support news and product launches.
- Respond to asset requests from editors.
- Keep PR tools up to date with all relevant information.
- Cultivate relationships with print & online editors, in alignment with team strategy.
- Support in the development of press target lists to maintain master media contact lists.
- Be active part of the team for corporate events (pre and post), support onsite, monitor, clip, and keep track of post-event press coverage including social placements.
- Support the Social Media team in drafting Editorial Plan for Lilly Italy social media pages, being proactive in proposing topics and storytelling.

**Key relationships**:
The resource will work closely with the people of Corporate Affairs team such as Government Affairs and Patient Advocacy, in close collaboration with CA team assistant and compliance champion to be as much aligned as possible to Lilly internal policies and procedures.

In addition, the resource will work closely with:

- Internal communications and social media team
- Medical and Marketing teams
- Ethics&Compliance team
- Corporate Affairs global colleagues

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Previous experience (3+ years) in External communication department in pharma companies;
- Strong editorial skills;
- Deep knowledge of Italian editorial and media scenario, with a focus on healthcare;
- Social media savy;
- Previous experience in working with cross-functional teams;
- Ability to plan and organize and prioritize in compliance with internal policies and procedures;
- Team player with a positive attitude;
- Excellent in written and spoken English and Italian.

**Education Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree
